A naval mine exploded off the coast of Romania

Castinesti is a town on the Black Sea coast of Romania, in Constanta County. The explosion happened in the morning, around 9 am local time (8 am Polish time).

No one was directly injured. According to the services, a young man required medical attention, complaining of hearing damage as a result of the explosion, but refused to be hospitalized.

According to local authorities, the explosion occurred when the mine hit the wharf. It doesn’t cause much damage, but there is one more mine floating in the ocean. Sappers along with Coast Guard personnel will go to the scene to assess the situation and defuse the second mine.
