‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians’ Gets Disney+ Premiere Date, Teaser – Deadline

In honor of Percy Jackson’s birthday, Disney+ has released a new teaser for the upcoming original series Percy Jackson and the OlympiansAlong with the announcement that the series, based on the bestselling book series by Rick Riordan, will premiere with two episodes on December 20, 2023 on Disney+, followed by new episodes weekly.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians It tells the fictional story of a 12-year-old talking demigod, Percy Jackson, who has just come to terms with his newfound divine powers when the god of the sky, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. With the help of his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to find her and restore order to Olympus.

The series stars Walker Scoble (Percy Jackson), Lea Sava Jeffries (“Annabeth Chase”) and Ariane Simhadri (Grover Underwood) and features notable guest stars Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hermes”) and Megan Mullally (“Alecto” aka “Mrs. Dodds”) , Toby Stevens (“Poseidon”), Virginia Cole (“Sally Jackson”), Jason Mantzoukas (“Dionysus” aka “Mr. Dee”), Jay Doblas (“Hades”), Glenn Turman (“Chiron” aka “Mr Brunner” ”), the late Lance Reddick (“Zeus”), Adam Copeland (“Ares”), Charlie Bushnell (“Luke Castellane”), Dior Godion (“Clarice La Rue”), Jessica Parker Kennedy (“Medusa”), Olivia Morton (“Nancy Popovit”), Susan Cryer (“Echidna”), Tim Sharp (“Gabby Ugliano”), Timothy Omondson (“Hephaestus”).

Riordan worked closely with the creative team and showrunners John Steinberg and Dan Schutz on the series, which, according to Disney+, remains true to his vision of the popular literary characters. The first two episodes were written by Riordan and Steinberg and directed by James Bobin. Steinberg and Schutz serve as executive producers along with Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan and Elaine Goldsmith-Fenn of The Gotham Collection, Bert Salk and Jeremy Bell of The Gotham Collection, DJ Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Oso-Brien, Anders Engstrom and Jett Wilkinson.
