Ukraine will lose the war if America doesn't help

If Congress doesn't help Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war. Then other countries will be at risk, Zelensky said on CNN.

Last week, Bloomberg, citing Republican sources, reported that a vote in the US House of Representatives on aid to Ukraine would take place in mid-April.

American military aid was cut off

House Speaker Mike Johnson has yet to order a vote on a bill that would provide Ukraine with an additional $60 billion, and the White House is struggling to find a way to send aid to Kiev, which has been battling Russian forces for more than two years. .

The lack of US aid is already affecting the situation in Ukraine, where Russian troops are advancing and Ukrainian forces must manage limited resources, Reuters reported.

“I think our allies are well aware of our financial situation, and the Ukrainians are more aware than anyone else of the deficit caused by our inability to supply them,” a US official told the agency, speaking on condition of anonymity.

U.S. President Joe Biden's administration announced in March that it would send $300 million in military aid to Ukraine, citing an unusual move resulting from unexpected savings under military contracts made by the Pentagon.

Ukraine has a shortage of ammunition

By the end of December 2023, US arms deliveries had stopped, and the resulting shortage of ammunition played a key role in the defeat of the Ukrainian army in Avdiivka, which forced the defenders to surrender in mid-February.

Following the Russian invasion, Ukraine became the largest recipient of arms from the United States since World War II. In 2023, the Americans provided military aid to the Ukrainians for a total of 24 billion dollars, and in 2022 – almost 27 billion dollars.
