Russell Wilson plans to sign with the Steelers

Steelers nation, let's shape up?

Russell Wilson will sign with the Steelers. This was announced in X, Post a clip of the team icon The rebel video.

He is still a member of the Broncos. They will release him on Wednesday. Then he will sign in Pittsburgh. (Multiple reports have essentially confirmed the apparent importance of Wilson's post.)

Presumably, he will sign a one-year contract for a league minimum of $1.21 million. The Broncos will owe the balance of his fully guaranteed $39 million salary.

It's a surprising turnaround for the Steelers, who were committed to a Kenny Pickett vs. Mason Rudolph competition. However, Wilson's price tag of $1.21 million is a huge bargain. Coach Mike Tomlin also has a strong affinity for players with East Virginia ties, as does Wilson.

The question becomes whether he will beat out Pickett, the 2022 first-round pick whom the Steelers are very proud of. If it's close, will the edge go to Pickett?

Wilson supposedly thought it wouldn't be anytime soon. Beckett was fine. There's nothing he does that's amazing. Wilson is still capable of making big plays. Besides the team's defense, things can get very interesting at the confluence of the Ohio, Monongahela and Ohio rivers.
