Rubiżne shared Mariupol’s fate. Graves in the courtyards, the city is gone

The war in Ukraine has been going on for the past three months. Serhiy Haydai, head of the regional government, said the town of Rubisne in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine shared the fate of Mariupol and was completely destroyed by Russian troops.

“There are graves in the courtyards, no remaining buildings, many houses will not be rebuilt.” – Hajj wrote.

“Before the Russian invasion, more than 60,000 people lived in Rubis. They worked in factories, in the budget sector, in the small business sector. Today Rubizians are divided into three groups “Those deported to Ukraine or other safe cities abroad, deported to Russia or invaded and occupied by Kadirov (Chechen units of the Russian National Guard – edition) and areas occupied by people hiding in cellars” – wrote Hajdaj.

“Robbed and burnt brick boxes – this is our ruby now. We will rebuild the city from scratch,” the governor added.

Russian troops captured Rubisnev in mid-May. The city is located about 10 km northwest of Chevrolet Donetsk – the informal capital of a part of the Luhansk region controlled by the government in Kiev.

Capturing this center during the invasion of eastern Ukraine is currently one of the most important targets of the invaders.
