Mrs. Marvel’s alternate costume released online

It took Kamala Khan (Iman Velani) almost all six episodes to get her superhero suit, a Delicate comic look complete with nautical domino mask and red scarf. While the end result was already faithful to the comics, some other iterations were taken during the development phase visually. On Tuesday, Marvel Concept artist Karla Ortiz shared two possible character forms, each of which deviated slightly from the final look first introduced in the series.

One look introduces black accents to Kamala’s leggings, making it comparable to the best pictures of Simu Liu’s Shang Chi he wore in his singles. This same concept also features a more stylistic dress than we saw in the final cut. The other concept shares different shoes for the character, with a more traditional look on the dress. See both pieces of concept art below.

In addition to the costume, the finale of Mrs. Marvel also happened to make the teenage mutant hero.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love inhumans. Black Bolt is my father,” Villani He said in a Reddit Q&A earlier this month. “But I think the MCU is in a completely different place than the comics, so we’ve really been able to go that way with Kamala, and to be fair, the original goal of the comic character was to make her a mutant, so I’m over the moon because that’s real and we can make it happen.” “Sana Amanat and I were terrified; every brain cell exploded when we found out we could do it. I was literally updating the episode 6 discussion thread here until someone finally mentioned it.”
