The sixth-generation iPad Air is supposed to launch in October as the only iPad update for 2023, according to a plausible rumor shared on Chinese social networking site Weibo.
“Only the iPad Air series should be updated this year,” the post reads, with a later clarification that the product update would take place in October, with “no mini and Pro this year.” The information comes from an account with a track record of revealing accurate information about Apple’s plans.
In the latest episode of The MacRumors Show podcast, BloombergMark Gurman of iPad said that a new iPad Air with improved specs is in the works and the device appears to be “coming soon”, likely in October. This rumor was posted on Weibo before Gorman’s recent comments.
Gorman believes there will be another launch of Apple products in October, but has expressed doubts about the possibility of holding a full event to introduce new devices. He said it could be similar to the introduction of the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro models earlier this year, which was announced via a press release and a short video.
