“Democrats” stress accusations of “genocide” against Israel and say that the Israeli army “targets civilians”

Democrats gathered on Capitol Hill to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza on Thursday, repeating accusations that Israel is targeting civilians and committing “genocide.”

Representative Cori Bush, Democrat of Missouri, held the press conference alongside Representatives Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib, Democrat of Michigan. They also invited members of Doctors Without Borders, which provides humanitarian aid in Gaza. Bush directed evil words at Israel during her opening speech.

“When we hear rhetoric of genocide, when we witness mass destruction and murder, when we fund bombs that are dropped, when we willfully ignore suffering, we allow the people we represent to be complicit in mass atrocities,” Bush said.

“Let me be clear about what is happening: these are war crimes. Targeting civilians is a war crime, targeting medical facilities is a war crime, starvation and cutting off water and electricity is a war crime, and collective punishment. She added: “Killing 2.3 million people is a war crime, and we reject Silence,” while Omar and Tlaib nodded in agreement.

On the other hand, Israel issued warnings to civilians in the Gaza Strip and urged them to evacuate the war zones before strikes targeting Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure. While many Palestinian civilians were killed during the war, the Biden administration has defended Israel’s right to self-defense, noting that civilian deaths, while tragic, are a result of “the nature of the conflict.”

The “Band” trio has already faced heavy criticism for their inflammatory rhetoric about the war between Israel and Hamas. Tlaib herself was criticized in the House of Representatives in November after she defended a chant calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.
