Hoping to add a little more substance to the NCAA Tournament this late in the season, Iowa State basketball heads to No. 12 Illinois for Saturday afternoon's contest. The Big Ten Network will broadcast the contest at 1:15 p.m.
The Hawkeyes (16-11, 8-8 Big Ten Conference) followed up their big win at home over Wisconsin with a rare victory at the Breslin Center on Tuesday night. The 78-71 win over Michigan State moved Iowa State back to .500 in the league for the first time since January 15.
Meanwhile, Illinois (19-7, 10-5) enters Saturday's contest coming out of a different position. The Fighting Illini collapsed late Wednesday night at Penn State for a tough 90-89 loss. However, Illinois has won five of its last seven games.
