GTA 6 will set ‘creative standards for the series’, the publisher claims

The next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise will set “creative standards for the series,” according to the publisher take two.

Speaking as part of Take-Two’s financial update, Strauss ZelnickThe company’s CEO, said development of the game, which is currently unnamed, “is in full swing.”

“The rock games Our team is determined to once again set the creative standard for the series, our industry, and all entertainment, just as the label has done with each of their front-end releases.”

Rockstar confirmed that game development was progressing in February.

“We look forward to sharing more once we’re ready, so please follow Rockstar Newswire for official details,” the company said at the time, but not much official news about the game has surfaced since then.

Since then, Bloomberg has claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will take place in a Miami-based area, and may feature a playable female character.

In a report published last month, sources told Bloomberg that the game is “at least two years away,” and that this could be due to sweeping cultural changes at Rockstar.

Industry insider Tom Henderson claimed last July that Grand Theft Auto 6 will release in 2024 or 2025, in part due to Rockstar’s new focus on employee wellbeing after Criticism of its alleged crisis culture.

At the time, his claims were backed up by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreyer, as well as private VGC sources.

Earlier this year, a Rockstar insider who has leaked information about the company’s meticulous games in the past claimed GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption remasters “It was on the table a few years ago” but it’s no longer planned.
