Valorant’s roster is set to grow again with the next new agent, Gekko. From a breakdown of the new character’s abilities to his release date, here’s everything you need to know about Gekko.
Valorant’s newest Agent, Gekko, is set to join the fight and increase the Agent roster to a total of 21. the game ever since Valorant officially launched on June 2, 2020. Harbor was the most recent addition, but that distinction will now be held by Agent 22, Gekko.
Now that his full range of abilities has been revealed, here’s everything there is to know about the American agent, Gekko.

Mosh Gekko can repeat across a large area.
Brave Agent 22’s official name: Gekko
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Gekko will be a rookie in the game. It is the sixth starter after Sova, Breach, Skye, KAY/O, and Fade. Prior to its official announcement, Gekko was codenamed “SmokeDancer,” according to a prominent leaker, “ValorLeaks.”
Gekko narrative writer Joe Kellin said: “Determining what to call Gekko’s abilities was a unique challenge compared to previous agents. Each ability was also one of Gekko’s companions, personalities in their own right.” More on that below.
Gekko’s abilities are valor
Given that Gekko has an arsenal of creatures at his disposal, he can influence a round in a variety of ways. Whether that’s allowing Wingman to defuse, plant a Spike, or throw a Mosh like a grenade, there’s a lot he can do. Below is a look at his full collection.

- vertigo (E): Equip Dizzy FIRE to send a spinner soaring forward into the air. Dizzy charges and then unleashes plasma blasts at enemies in line of sight. Blind enemies infected with plasma. When Dizzy expires, she returns to INTERACT sleeper ball to retrieve the globe and gain another spinning charge after a short cooldown.
- wingman (x): Equip Wingman FIRE to send your Wingman forward in search of enemies. Wingman fires a concussive blast towards the first enemy ALT FIRE sees when targeting Spike location or planting Spike to nullify Wingman or plant Spike. To farm, Gekko must have the spike in his inventory. When the Wingman expires, it returns to INTERACT sleeper ball to retrieve the globe and gain another Wingman charge after a short cooldown.
- mesh hole (C): Equip Mosh FIRE to throw Mosh like ALT FIRE bomb to throw it underground. Upon landing, Mosh blasts across a large area and then explodes after a short delay.
- Thrash (X): Equip Thrash FIRE to connect with Thrash’s mind and guide it through enemy territory, active to lunge forward and blast, trapping any enemies within a small radius. When the Thrash expires, it returns to INTERACT sleeper ball to retrieve the globe and gain another Thrash charge after a short cooldown. Thrash can only be restored once.
Release date valiant agent 22
Gekko is officially set to release as part of Episode 6 Act 2 on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He will join the game with all new content in the latest Battle Pass.

Gekko was revealed on March 4 before the grand finale of VCT LOCK // IN. The unveiling occurred during an exhibition match involving Tarik ‘Tarik’ Celik and Leonardo ‘frttt’ Braz, who played the new agent. Tarek Wefart has hand-picked other content creators and brave professionals for this one-of-a-kind show.
