Dead City E2 Easter Eggs You Missed (From Stylish to Unexpected)

TWD’s Home Alone reference is something you definitely don’t want to miss.

Episode 2 of The Walking Dead: Dead City aired on Sunday. If you’ve already watched it, it’s time to check out some episode details you might have missed.

Spoiler alert for Dead City 2 episode.

home alone 2

When Maggie and Negan finally catch up with a woman who stole their bags, Esther, Negan calls her “The Dove Lady” which is the name of a character from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).

In the episode, we are introduced to the group of Croats, the Borazzi. Al-Barazi means “brothers”. Negan also tells Maggie that Croat has been calling him Boraz (brother). This could be a possible clue in the hierarchy in the Croatian group indicating that everyone is brother and equal (well, except for Croats).

improvised weapons

In the episode, we see that Porazzi and the group of survivors that Negan and Maggie encounter do not have any weapons. Instead, they came up with some improvised weapons.

And there’s a reason for that: A survivor mentioned that once you set foot on the island, you’re stuck there. So, it’s not like they can go find some guns elsewhere. On top of that, it’s been a good 15 years since the beginning of the apocalypse, so guns are very hard to come by these days.

New Hilltop

We got a look at the newly created Hilltop, where Ginny, the girl Negan has taken care of, has arrived. In the previous episode, she tells Maggie that the Hilltop was moved after the Whisperers burned it down.

The Hilltop’s whereabouts are currently still unknown, but in the scene as we get around the place, you can’t help but notice some shipping containers that look a lot like the ones we saw in Season 5’s Terminus. Maybe Maggie in the group learned about this place, and they decided to rebuild it.

water tower

Jenny looks at the Hilltop water tower twice in the episode – when she arrives and when she intends to leave. He is sympathetic for a reason. Whether the water tower had something to do with her parents’ death/reminds her of the farm she lived on, or it will play some role in upcoming episodes.
