A new threat to Ukraine. Russia deploys 2S35 Alliance-SW

This was reported by the Russian state-owned TASS news agency Commencement of serial production of the 2S35 Koalicja-SW self-propelled howitzer gun As the Kremlin mistakenly calls the war in Ukraine, it is positioning it in a zone of “special military operations.” However, it stresses that there is currently no official confirmation of this information from the Russian authorities.

The 2S35 Koalicja-SW is a Russian self-propelled 152 mm howitzer gun., which was developed by the Central Scientific Research Institute “Purevestnik” (part of the Uralvakonzavod Arms Concern) as a support unit and eventual successor to the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled gun. Its work began in 2006 and was initially considered to use the same chassis with a modified turret with a twin 152 mm gun with an automatic loading device in the form of two swing feeders. However, this concept was rejected in 2010, when it was decided to mount the system on a tracked chassis from the T-72/90 family. Interestingly, mass production was supposed to start in 2015, so new information from the TASS agency suggests that Russia is already eight years behind schedule.
