On Monday, November 28, Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Solkin shared on social media a photo of a billboard that can be seen in Russia. Citizens are encouraged to join the military. However, the face on the poster might be surprising.

A photo of former American adult film actress Sasha Gray was used to promote the Russian military. A world-famous star in a Russian uniform smiles from behind a desk. This poster is put up to encourage people to join the army.
Poster says contract service is a good choice.
The exact location of the billboard is unknown. However, potential recruits can read that they should return to their local WKU branch if they have any problems joining the military.
They suggest that service in the army guarantees a “pass” – assessed by Volodymyr Solkin under the photo.

This is not the first time that the Russians have used this particular actress for propaganda purposes. After the annexation of Crimea in 2015, social media in Russia circulated a photo of an American adult film star posing as a military nurse.
