Zelensky claims ‘tens of thousands’ were killed by the Russian army in Mariupol

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday:Mariupol has been destroyedTens of thousands of people [are] dead, but the Russians are still continuing the military operation.”

Zelensky made the remark while addressing South Korean lawmakers.

He reportedly said: “Ukraine needs different military technologies from aircraft to tanks.” Reuters. “South Korea can help us.”

Mariupol, partially occupied for weeks, has been the target of one of the most brutal Russian attacks in Ukraine since the invasion began on February 24.

Monday , The British Ministry of Defense said “The use of phosphorous munitions by Russian forces in the Donetsk Oblast raises the possibility of their future employment in Mariupol as the fighting for the city intensifies.”
