Nightdive Studios was apparently ‘close’ to a GoldenEye 007 revival

Rare’s iconic first person shooter Golden eyes 007 It was thought to be stuck in licensing hell, but after persistent rumors and last week’s Nintendo Direct, Switch Online N64 was officially announced. It’s coming to Xbox Game Pass and rare re With some minor improvements as well.

According to studio CEO Stephen Keck, Nightdive appears to be incredibly close to securing a re-release. This is what he said:

“NightdiveStudio got *this* close to doing it, but in the end I’m thrilled to see GoldenEye return to modern platforms and even more excited that RareLtd is the studio to bring it back.”

Unfortunately, Kik did not explain how the situation developed. Despite not being able to secure GoldenEye 007, as mentioned in the tweet above, he is still “happy” to see the return of the classic N64 and happy to see Rare revive it.

Nightdive Studios currently has its hands full of toys like system shock The recently announced project, The Rise of the Trinity: Silly Edition. Kick previously mentioned how the studio would be interested in recovery else classics like eternal darknessbut had no luck with Nintendo.
