Cardinals WR Marques Brown arrested for speeding

Arizona Cardinals welcome Marquis “Hollywood” Brown The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed to NFL.com that he was arrested Wednesday morning on a charge of criminal speeding.

Brown was arrested at 7:05 a.m. local time on Arizona State Route 101 in North Phoenix and was booked into Maricopa County Jail on a speeding criminal charge, a third-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in prison, a fine of up to $500 and / Or up to one year on probation. Maricopa County prisoner records say Brown was arrested for speeding 85 mph.

“We are aware of the situation with respect to the Hollywood Browns and have notified the NFL office as required,” the Cardinals said in a statement. “We will comment more as appropriate.”

The 25-year-old is entering his first season in the desert after being traded from the Baltimore Ravens during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Brown, who did not train during training camp while dealing with a hamstring injury, was activated from the list of non-football related injuries on Tuesday. Brown was a spectator during Tuesday’s training.

Brown was supposed to play a key role in the Arizona attack early in the season as star Deandre Hopkins sent six games off suspension. The receiver led all of Baltimore’s hunting grounds with 91 catches, 1,008 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2021. Cardinals also use Rondel Moore and AJ Green in the receiver.
