‘1899’ Canceled After One Season On Netflix – Deadline

There will be no second season for the mystery thriller series 1899. Netflix Series cancelled dark creators Jantje Friese And the Baran Bo UdarWho revealed the news on social media.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell you this 1899 Co-models Bo Odar and Friese announced Monday on Odar’s Instagram account. “We wanted to end this wonderful journey with a second and third season, as we did with dark. But sometimes things don’t go the way you planned.”

1899 It was a series about the mysterious events aboard a migratory steamship heading west to leave the Old Continent. The passengers, a mixed bag of European ancestry, are united by their hopes and dreams for the new century and their future abroad. But their journey takes an unexpected turn when they discover another immigrant ship adrift at sea. What they find on the ship, will turn their path to the promised land into a terrifying nightmare.

The series stars Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Beechmann and Miguel Bernardo.

Produce 1899 on a newly built virtual production stage based at Babelsberg Studios in Germany – the largest such facility in Europe.

Friese and bo Odar served as co-showrunners and executive producers. Frieza served as writer and Bo Udar directed.
