Chilaw Division Intelligence sleuths last Friday recovered a cache of arms hidden in a mangrove off the lagoon area in Madurankuliya. These weapons included a 12 bore firearm with two live bullets, 54 ammunitions of T56 type and two magazines.
Police believe this fire-arm has allegedly used in the shootout where one UPFA supporter was killed and 10 others were injured at Madurankuliya on January 16.
