Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the National Mobile Service Provider has introduced yet another novel concept of FREE Home Delivery and installation of its popular High Speed Internet services.
Under this scheme, any potential customer can request for the service, at his or her own convenience simply by making a call to the Mobitel Hotline. With this, customers can enjoy the delivery and installation of the USB Modem by a trained technician at the customer’s own doorstep.
In addition, to enrich user experience, the entitled data bundles of the Zoom 490 and Zoom 890 packages have been enhanced and a brand new entrant - Zoom 1290 - has been introduced to the popular M3 High Speed Internet suite of packages with the aim of providing users with increased economy on internet access.
Chairperson of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, Leisha De Silva Chandrasena speaking of the new Service said, "A vast majority of Sri Lankans are still unfamiliar with the internet, much less with Mobile Broadband. As such, they are apprehensive of trying this service on their own. The FREE Home Delivery and Installation Service is introduced with the aim of alleviating this apprehension with regard to Mobile Broadband and thus bridging the digital divide. This free service is provided by the National Mobile Service Provider as an appreciation of the declaration of year 2009 as the year of ICT and English by His Excellency The President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, Suren J. Amarasekera, said,
"The launch of Mobitel’s M3 in December 2007 took citizens of Sri Lanka to the league of privileged few: ‘among the first 10 countries in the world’ to embrace, experience and enjoy 3.5G HSPA Network. Mobitel’s M3 gave customer the power to communicate, entertain and stay connected while on the move with a suite of mobile enabled broadband services, like Voice and Video telephony, High Speed Data Access, Video Streaming, Mobile TV, Music Streaming, Online Music and more. |
