Interpol in Malaysia rescues two kidnapped Lankans

Two Sri Lankans were rescued by Interpol in Malaysia after they were kidnapped by an unknown extortion gang several weeks ago.

According to sources the Interpol had also been able to arrest six suspects including a Sri Lankan.

The identity and information about the suspects would be shared with the intelligence agencies in the country and is now under way, sources said.

The rescued would be handed over to the embassy officials after the investigations are concluded and till then they would be under the supervision of the police in that country.

Out of the six suspects, five of them were arrested by the Interpol operating in France.
